This solution though can impact performance, especially on HDDs. The solution to this problem is to disable Windows Caching Service in Settings > Advanced > libtorrent section. Seeding could use 8GB of 12GB of RAM on my laptop before I've noticed what's going on! To be fair the qBittorrent doesn't use all that RAM, Windows Caching Service does but it doesn't really matter since it's still connected to qBt. I'm seeding around 300-400 torrents and with the program running 24/7 the torrent service is using like 95% or RAM. But here's the real problem with qBittorrent.

qBt is using far more memory than uTorrent or Transmission (qBittorrent: 100MB, uTorrent 30-50MB, Transmission 30-40) with one torrent added, open port and rest of default settings. I use it on my home seedbox which is running 24/7. I'm currently using qBittorrent as main client but I'm not 100% happy with it.

Personally I've tested uTorrent, qBittorrent and Transmission (early preview) for Windows 7 圆4. Where it comes down to Windows clients there are some problems with every bittorrent client. The new queue is why half the mods drink and the other half cry themselves to sleep. Peerblock & related blocklists have never done anything despite what your confirmation bias has proven.

We are a thriving community dedicated to helping users old and new understand and use torrents. I think this torrent client looks promising ,no offence but ktorrent is just isn`t stable enough ,qbittorrent lacks a few features thats true ,but hopefully it will develop in time.It would be realy good to have packagees int the ubuntu repositories of liborrent and qbittorent ,because I think it`s good and reliable enough.Welcome to the torrents subreddit. I downloaded the sourcecode ,and started compiling ,but it needed the original libtorrent that can`t be found in the apt repositories ,it`s available on sourceforge.

One day while I was surfing the ubuntu forums ,I found a thread that contained some firewalling problem ,something like this "the firewall blockes qbitorrent" or something like ,that ,I was atrackted by the name for two reasons :ġ) I prefer qt / kde based apps 2) I am in great need of a stable and working torrent client
